Ballots and reports

Open a round's review screen → Ballot. Enter each speaker's name and score (type it, or use − / +). Team results are computed from the scores, so the ballot can never contradict itself.

British Parliamentary

  • Teams: Opening Government (PM, DPM), Opening Opposition (LO, DLO), Closing Government (MG, GW), Closing Opposition (MO, OW).
  • Speaker scores 50–100 in whole points.
  • Teams are ranked 1st–4th by total and get 3 / 2 / 1 / 0 points.

UADC 7-7-7-4 and 5-5-5-3 (Asian Parliamentary)

  • Government: PM, DPM, GW and the Government Reply; Opposition: LO, DLO, OW and the Opposition Reply.
  • Substantive speeches 70–80; reply speeches 35–40 in 0.5 steps.
  • The team with the higher total wins; the margin is shown.

World Schools (WSDC)

  • Proposition: three speakers and the Proposition Reply; Opposition likewise.
  • Substantive speeches 60–80; reply speeches 30–40 in 0.5 steps.
  • The team with the higher total wins; the margin is shown.

Formats from the Debatekeeper library

  • Two teams (Affirmative and Negative, or as the format names them); the higher total wins. BP variants (5 and 6 minutes) are ranked like BP.
  • Any score from 0 to 100 in 0.5 steps, because the library doesn't record scoring rules.

Ranges reflect common practice; tournaments vary, so tell us if yours differ. Each format's scoring lives in its definition file (see Adding a debate format).

Marking final

Mark final is available only when nothing is listed as a problem:

  • a speaker has no score,
  • a score is outside the range or not on the step (e.g. 37.25 for a reply),
  • two teams have the same total (adjust scores so the result is clear).

Changing a score afterwards reopens the ballot. Comments for the debaters are included in the report.

PDF report

Review screen → Export PDF. The report contains:

  • motion, format and date;
  • the ballot table (names, scores, totals, ranks or winner) and comments, or a note that the ballot isn't final;
  • each delivered speech: time used and overtime, interruptions with outcomes, flow notes, and transcripts if Include transcripts is on.

On Android the share sheet opens (save to Files, send by WhatsApp or email); on Windows you choose where to save it.
